Henderson County Track and Field | Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 9

The Henderson County Colonels and Lady Colonels track teams put together one of the strongest postseason stretches in recent program history over the past two weeks.

On May 2 at Calloway County, the Colonels captured the first Area One championship, edging Marshall County 102.5-100. One week later, Henderson County followed that performance by winning the Class 3A Region 1 championship on its home track with 117 points, claiming the program’s first regional title since 2007.

Under first-year head coach Wes Fehrenbacher, Henderson County advanced multiple athletes and all four boys relay teams to state competition while scoring points across nearly every event group throughout both meets.
