Stock Yards Bank & Trust—like Field & Main for so many years before—will serve as the presenting sponsor for this year’s W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival.
It will be June 17-20 at Audubon Mill Park.
The sponsorship builds on a long history of community support for the festival in Henderson, reflecting Stock Yards Bank & Trust’s continued investment in the region, said a release from Stock Yards.
“The W.C. Handy Festival is a cornerstone event for Henderson and the surrounding region,” said Doug Lawson, market president for Stock Yards Bank & Trust. “We’re proud to support a tradition that brings people together, celebrates music and culture, and creates lasting connections in the community. Events like this reflect the spirit of the communities we serve.”
Held at Audubon Mill Park, the four-day festival features a lineup of acclaimed blues artists, local food vendors and family-friendly experiences – all free and open to the public. The festival takes place each year, the week before Father’s Day, and is made possible through the support of sponsors, donors and volunteers.

Organized by the nonprofit organization Henderson Music Preservation Society, the festival operates with a mission to preserve and promote blues music while maintaining free access for all attendees, said the release. One hundred percent of proceeds raised each year go toward funding the following year’s festival.
“The continued support of partners like Stock Yards Bank & Trust allows us to keep this festival free and accessible for everyone,” said Gale Myers, W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival Chairperson. “For 35 years, this event has been about community, and we’re grateful to have sponsors who share that commitment.”
