To prepare for the shift to a new alignment on U.S. 41 South this week, the highway just north of the Ky. 351/Second Street exit were scheduled to be reduced to one lane on Friday. The one-lane reduction is scheduled to end on Wednesday, according to a release from I-69 Ohio river Crossing.

Both lanes of southbound traffic are expected to be on the new roadway—the future I-69—by  early Wednesday morning, said the release.

Northbound traffic shifted to the new roadway earlier this week. With the shift, crews will be able to complete needed road and bridge work in the area and build the new Kimsey Lane connection over to Van Wyk Road and complete the Merrill Trail Extension, said the release.

Additionally, crews will demolish the overpass bridge over Van Wyk Road, which is scheduled from Wednesday-Friday, said the release. Van Wyk Road will be closed on those days.

Finally, Ky. 2084 was scheduled to reopen to northbound traffic on Saturday, said the release.
