City’s annual Easter egg hunt is Saturday morning at Newman Park

The City of Henderson’s Parks & Recreation Department will hide 16,000 eggs for the city’s annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday.

The event is free. Start time is 10 a.m. at Newman Park.

According to a release from the city, there will be a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny starting at 9:30 AM with the egg hunt starting at 10 a.m.

To ensure a fun and fair experience for everyone, participants will be divided into age groups:

  • 5 years old and under
  • 6-8 years old
  • 9-12 years old
  • 13–17 years old
  • 18 and older (including adults)

Each age group will have three prize-winning eggs. If participants find an egg with a winning ticket inside, they’ll win one of the group prizes: grand, medium, or small.

Children who wish to take part in the egg hunt should arrive ten minutes before the event’s 10 am start time. In case of rain, the event will be cancelled.

Henderson Community College hires new workforce solutions coordinator

Henderson Community College has hired Tiffany Jackson as its new Workforce Solutions Coordinator.

Jackson will support the development and coordination of workforce training initiatives, strengthen partnerships with local employers and help align educational programs with regional industry needs, said an HCC release.

Jackson, who holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Wester Kentucky University, has 20 years of experience in healthcare administration and entrepreneurship, with a strong background in program coordination, operations and community engagement, said the release. Most recently, she opened and operated multiple business ventures in Union County, eventually expanding to other states and in the digital space, where she led marketing, operations and community-focused initiatives.

“Henderson Community College is excited to have Ms. Jackson join our staff and community,” said Dr. Mike Knecht, Chief Academic Officer. “She brings a lot of experience and talent that will benefit our local employers through our Workforce Solutions Department.”
