A Broadway musical with its roots in Greek mythology.
Boy band tunes and family fun.
A blue suede Christmas and a country music notable.
This are the things Henderson Area Arts Alliance Executive Director Kensington Eck began sneak-previewing in mid-May for the 2026-27 season — the organization’s 32nd at Preston Arts Center — to sponsors, season ticket holders and community partners.
The new season will be announced to the public on June 1, and season tickets go on sale July 1 (with single event ticket sales to follow along shortly thereafter.)
Here are the dates for seven events:
Tuesday, Sept. 15:
“Dinosaur Dimensions” at 6 p.m. is a family-oriented show with puppets and animatronics. During the day, school shows will be offered, one each to Henderson, Union and Webster counties grades K-5.
Sunday, Oct. 25:
The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Hadestown,” described by Eck as “an enormous ‘grab’ for us” will be presented at 7 pm. It’s the first Broadway show for the organization in three years and intertwines two mythic tales: That of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone as you take a journey to the underworld and back.
Friday, Nov. 20:
The off-Broadway show “The Boy Band Project” will bring the 1990s and 2000s music of NSYNC, The Back Street Boys and others to the local stage in a “cover band concert” at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 18:
It’s an Elvis Christmas at 7 p.m. when “Blue Suede Christmas” is presented by artist/vocalist Scot Bruce, a Disneyland performer. It is a blend of Elvis’ hit songs plus music from his Christmas albums.
Saturday, Feb. 13:
We don’t yet know the performer because of a tour release date embargo, but we know it’s an orchestra and that they’ve performed here before. Eck said the orchestra selected Henderson for this add-on to their tour schedule because of the hospitality they experienced here when they visited previously.
Thursday, March 11:
A 7 p.m. event titled “Artrageous” will blend on-stage live painting with music. The paintings created at the event will be auctioned later a fundraising event for HAAA. This event will also offer school shows during the day.
Saturday, April 24:
A 7 p.m. concert will feature country music artist Deana Carter appearing with a full band to close the season. She is known for the number-one hits “Strawberry Wine,” “We Danced Anyway” and “How Do I Get There.”
