Ross Plummer | Cross Country | Athlete of the Week for week ending Oct. 18
Ross Plummer of the Henderson County Cross Country squad ran 18:18.26 to an impressive 11th out of 95 runners in the Arrowhead Invitational hosted by Union County. The week prior, he ran a PR 17:50.15 in the Daviess County Classic, leading the Henderson County bunch into the Region meet on Saturday, October 25.
Ross on his performances: “It is great to get recognized, and I appreciate everyone who nominated me. At the end of this week is cross country regionals, and after a great soccer season, I am ready to focus on running. While practicing with soccer, I had been running cross country meets on the weekends, with my biggest accomplishment being breaking 18 minutes in the 5k. We have a lot of newcomers this year, but I know my teammates have been working hard and they are prepared to do whatever it takes to make it to state this weekend. Whatever happens, I know this team will get stronger in the years to come, but hopefully we will be heading to state in November.”
