The Henderson Lions are gearing up for the 2024 version of the club’s biggest annual fundraiser, the One-Night Live Auction. The auction is set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Rookies Sports Bar and Restaurant in downtown Henderson, a news release from the club said.

Tickets are $75 each.

Those who buy tickets and attend are in for a fun night of live auction featuring a wide variety of items and the knowledge they are helping the Lions to make Henderson a better place to live and work, said the release.

Last year, the club auctioned off travel and golf packages, restaurant and dining packages, electronics, lawn and garden equipment, gift cards from local merchants and lots of bourbon, just to name a few. Club members are now contacting businesses and merchants in the community to round up great items for this year’s auction.

The ticket includes a meal, drink ticket and access to bidding at the live auction. Tickets are available by emailing the Lions at hendersoncitylions@gmail.com, contacting the club at the Henderson Lions Facebook page or from Lions Club members.

The club raised nearly $40,000 in last year’s live auction, according to the club.

The money was used for grants to local nonprofit organizations, scholarships for local high school seniors as well as eye care needs and sight conservation programs, including vision screenings for 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th graders in Henderson County Schools, said the release.

The club’s most recent fundraising event was the Lions Arts and Crafts Festival at Audubon State Park the first weekend in October. The club raised about $25,000 dollars during that event to help support its community programs, said the release.

For more information, contact Myrle Partridge, the publicity chair for the club, at 270-577-2276.
