Annual Easter egg hunt has begun

The Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt is back. It started Monday, said the city of Henderson.

According to the city, this year’s scavenger hunt is designed for easy participation. Participants will follow weekly clues posted on the City’s social media channels to find colorful Easter eggs hidden in various locations around Henderson.

“We’re thrilled to bring back this unique springtime tradition,” said Henderson Parks & Recreation Director Trace Stevens. “The scavenger hunt is a fun and safe way for families to spend time together, explore the city, and enjoy the spring season.”

Here’s more information from the city:

How to Participate

  • Weekly clues will be posted on the City’s social media channels to help participants locate the hidden eggs.
  • Eggs can be found from your car, with no need to enter any buildings.
  • Once you’ve found all the eggs, complete the official entry form that can be found on the City’s website or at various locations around town
  • Return your form to the Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt mailbox in Central Park on the Main Street side no later than Monday, April 14.
  • Winners will be contacted on Thursday, April 17, and all entries with 20 correct eggs will be entered into a random drawing for prizes.

Sports complex grand opening March 29

The city of Henderson has scheduled the grand opening of the new sports complex for 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at 5845 Airline Road.

The day’s festivities will begin with a ribbon cutting and the official unveiling of the complex’s name and logo, said a city news release. Following the ribbon cutting, attendees can enjoy a range of activities for all members of the family.

One of the afternoon’s most exciting events will be the City vs. County Softball Game at 4:30 p.m. This friendly competition will feature elected officials and staff from both the city and county teams, providing a fun opportunity for residents to cheer on their local leaders.

The event is open to all, and families are encouraged to attend.

Wednesday work at traffic signal work at U.S. 41/Ky. 425 intersection will impact traffic

A power company is planning work on a utility pole near the intersection of U.S. 41 and KY 425 in Henderson on Wednesday. The work will impact a traffic signal at that intersection, said a state transportation cabinet release.

Due to the utility work, the traffic signal located at the intersection of U.S. 41, KY 425 and KY 2084 will be out of operation from approximately 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., said the release.

When traffic signals are not working, intersections should be considered four-way stops.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to have personnel on standby in case flaggers are needed to control traffic during the outage, said the release.at (270) 831-1274.
