Field & Main supports young farmers

Field & Main Bank presented each participant of the Henderson County Youth Livestock Show a bucket as a way to show support for the young farmers, said a release from the bank.

“We presented each participant with a Field & Main bucket to demonstrate our commitment,” said the release. “These buckets are not just practical tools for future feeding and raising of their animals but also a symbol of our support and belief in their potential. We are incredibly proud to support 4H, FFA, and the young individuals passionate about farming. Their dedication and hard work are the foundation of a thriving agricultural community, and we are honored to play a part in their journey.”

KY Adult Education at HCC hosts open house Tuesday

KY Adult Education will host an open house from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday on the second floor of the Sullivan Technology Center, located on the campus of Henderson Community College.

According to a release from HCC, the KY Adult Education team offers a range of free services to residents of Henderson County, including:

  • Resources for improving basic employment skills, such as reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Skill assessment
  • TABE testing and remediation
  • English as a Second Language instruction
  • Academic skills development
  • GED preparation

According to the release, attendees will be able to meet the adult education staff, learn about available programs and ask questions. These services are designed to help individuals advance their education, gain new skills and improve employment prospects.

Additionally, the KY Adult Education staff will collect items for the HCC Care Center. This campus pantry provides HCC and Adult Education students with free non-perishable food and personal hygiene items. If you would like to bring a donation to the HCC Care Center, the following items are suggested:

  • Canned soup, fruit or vegetables
  • Box of Instant Potatoes
  • Box of Hamburger or Tuna Helper
  • Canned Ravioli or Meat
  • Spaghetti or Alfredo Sauce
  • Toilet Tissue

For more information, contact the HCC KY Adult Education team at 270-831-9648 or pam.buchanan@kctcs.edu.
