Letter to the Editor: Nepotism is alive and well

Dear Editor:

Could it be that if the rules don’t fit—just change the rules?

Could it simply be, “I want that house –oops!  I can’t keep my City job if I buy it because it is against the rules for me to live outside the boundary –so what?  My buddies will vote to take care of that for me.”

Could it be, “Oh, your daughter can’t be on the Henderson City payroll because of the rules?  Don’t worry, we will vote a couple of months before her application to change the rules—that’s what we do for each other?”

A welcome follow-up to this article would be an announcement that there is going to be an independent inquiry into City rules and how they are changed to personally benefit and fulfill the desires of a group of officials who apparently police themselves.
