In response to recent queries, Stock Yards Bank & Trust declined to state the number of job losses that has come from its recent merger with Field & Main Bank.
In a statement sent to the Hendersonian, the bank said in part, “…there were staffing transitions, including retirements, voluntary departures and some eliminated positions.
“Every employee situation was different, and there is more context to these transitions than a single number can provide,” the statement said.
Community members have contacted the Hendersonian and commented on social media that they want to know the number of job losses.
The bank also commented on being able to retain a number of positions that “would not typically remain in a traditional merger environment because of the strength and talent of the Henderson team.”
Stock Yards also emphasized that it looks forward to continuing the community support that Field & Main provided.
Here’s the statement:
Field & Main’s merger with Stock Yards Bank & Trust represents a partnership between two Kentucky community banks that share a commitment to local relationships, community banking and long-term investment in the communities we serve.
We recognize that workforce transitions are never easy and can impact employees and families in meaningful ways. As part of the integration process, there were staffing transitions, including retirements, voluntary departures and some eliminated positions. Every employee situation was different, and there is more context to these transitions than a single number can provide.
At the same time, Stock Yards Bank & Trust retained a number of local team members in positions that would not typically remain in a traditional merger environment because of the strength and talent of the Henderson team. Employees impacted by the transition received generous severance support and assistance throughout the process.
Stock Yards Bank & Trust remains committed to Henderson and looks forward to continuing the strong community support that has long been important to Field & Main Bank, including local organizations and events such as the W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival. Together, we believe this partnership positions us to make an even greater long-term impact in the Henderson community for years to come.
