POW announces grant finalists

The Partnership of Women’s list of 2024 grant recipient finalists include Infinite Hope, the Boys and Girls Club and the Henderson Leadership Initiative.

According to a POW! release, the finalists were chosen after POW! members made on-site visits and thoroughly reviewed grant applications during the open grant cycle.

Finalists will be vying for top prize at the group’s annual dinner at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Farmer and Frenchman.

The three finalists will give a short, no-frills presentation on why they should receive the largest impact grant.

One $15,000 award will be given, and the runners-up will receive $5,000 each based on votes of the members and tabulated by local accounting firm, Kemper CPA Group, said the release.

POW! has awarded more than $200,000 in grants in 13 years, according to the release.

POW! raises money through individual and group memberships and supporting operational sponsorships. Annually, about half the money raised is awarded to local nonprofits in that grant year; the other half is invested in an endowment fund.  This endowment will allow POW! to continue to give in perpetuity, increasing its future impact.

If you have interest in becoming a member of POW! or wish to reserve a seat as a member or a guest at the annual dinner, please contact Andrea Roberts at powhendersonky@gmail.com.
