The city of Henderson will allow utility customers more time to pay bills this winter.
According to a city release, customers will have three additional days beyond the due dates printed on their utility bill to make their payments. The temporary adjustment begins with the utility bills arriving in mailboxes the week of December 14, said the release.
The city says the extended payment window is being offered to ease financial burdens.
According to the release, customers with bills showing a due date of the 25th or the last day of the month will have their extended payment window begin with the December bill and continue through the February bill. Customers with bills showing a due date of the 4th, 11th, or 18th of the month will have their extended window begin with the January bill and continues through the March bill, said the release.
For example, if a customer receives a utility bill next week with a due date of December 26, 2025, the new extended payment window allows three additional days, making the revised due date December 29, 2025, said the release.
The release said the city hopes the added flexibility will be beneficial during the colder months.
