Name: Ashley Renee Hampton

Age: 41

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, University of Kentucky, Magna Cum Laude; Juris Doctor, NKU Chase College of Law, Cum Laude

Experience: 16 years of active practice in Henderson County

Current occupation: Assistant Commonwealth Attorney and Owner of Hampton Law, LLC

Family: Isla Kate Hampton, daughter, and a large extended family

Why did you decide to run for election?

I decided to run for Henderson District Court Judge, Division One, because I understand the importance of fair and impartial decision-making. Throughout my practice in Henderson District Court, I have seen how the legal system directly affects the lives of individuals, their families, and our community. I am committed to upholding justice with consistent decisions, compassion, and respect for every person who enters the courtroom.

Why do you believe you are the best choice for this seat?

With sixteen years of experience practicing before the very bench for which I am seeking election, I have developed a thorough understanding of the demands of a District Court Judge. My commitment to integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and dedication to service have been unwavering throughout my career. My experience spans both prosecution and defense, in addition to civil work, equipping me with a well-rounded perspective and an enhanced ability to interpret and apply the law impartially.

I have additionally demonstrated a longstanding dedication to serving our community. Whether through my professional work in public service or my involvement with nonprofit organizations, I have gained valuable insight into the issues that impact our community. My drive to serve has strengthened my commitment for compassion and fairness. I am prepared to bring extensive knowledge, alongside a common sense approach and years of experience, to make fair and informed decisions.

What are your top priorities for the next term, if elected?

Division One of the Henderson District Court plays a critical role in making decisions that directly affect some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals, including juveniles charged with public offenses, people in need of guardians, and those facing challenges related to mental health or substance use.

I am committed to working collaboratively alongside our community partners and local agencies to ensure that every member of these at-risk populations receives the services and support available to them within these nuanced areas of the law. By maintaining strong relationships with these organizations, we can better address the unique needs of every individual who comes before the bench.

A final brief statement to support your candidacy.

My candidacy is about service. I want to ensure that Division One of the Henderson District Court displays high standards of professionalism, and that it remains a place where people feel heard, respected, and treated fairly. I bring a strong work ethic, extensive experience in all areas of Henderson District Court, and a deep respect for the law. I am ready to serve with integrity and impartiality, and I humbly ask for your vote.
