Name: Tre Michel Perkins

Age: 29

Education: Holy Name School, Owensboro Catholic High School

Professional experience: President of the Young Democrats, Executive member of the Henderson Democrats, Member of the W.C. handy Committee, Member of Park and Recs

Current occupation: Pharmacy Technician at Butler’s Apothecary

Family: Son of Johnnie Perkins, nephew of Kenny Perkins

Why did you decide to run for this office?

I decided to run this year to help show off the city for all its perks that it has to offer for those born and raised here like myself. To give back in a way that will be here for the next many generations to come so they may have something not just to have but also plan to work and guide them for whatever the future may hold and challenges that come their way. My run for office is not about me at all, it’s about my city, neighbors, community, and for the person that will step up and make a difference for the good of the city. With your help, we can do that and step the best Perks that city of Henderson has ever seen.

Why do you believe you are the best choice for this seat?

I’m the best for this seat because I am here for the people that think they are overlooked and forgotten about. To be their voice to advocate for them when no one else will, to be there when anyone has questions or just doesn’t understand how or why things are happening.

What are your top priorities for the next term, if elected?

MY top priorities when I’m elected for the city are just five simple things

  1. Updating our city transportation opportunities to provide better quality for everyone.
  2. To make sure that everyone  is properly informed about every discussion that is made.
  3. Continuing updating and using all resources that the city has for upkeep to the East End and other neighborhoods
  4. Having more opportunity to give people health care in Henderson, especially mental health
  5. Giving new local entrepreneurs the assistance they need to grow in Henderson

A final brief statement to support your candidacy

My overall goal for Henderson is to bring opportunities back to the City and County so that we, as a People of Henderson, don’t have to go to other places to work, shop, have fun, or eat. I will encourage young people to take advantage of these opportunities to better the up-and-coming leadership and the future of Henderson County. SO, LET’S BRING PERKS BACK TO HENDERSON!
