Inclement weather forecast for Saturday has caused city of Henderson officials to reschedule the grand opening of the new athletic complex.
It will now be 4:30 p.m. Friday at the complex located at 5845 Airline Road.
The ceremony will start off with the official ribbon-cutting and will be followed by a variety of family-friendly activities and entertainment throughout the evening, according to a release from the city.
Kids’ activities will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the concession stand will be open for guests to grab food and drinks, said the release.
At 5:30 p.m., the highly anticipated City vs. County softball game will take place, said the release.
City officials also pointed out that a live-stream of the University of Kentucky basketball game will be featured on a giant 30 x 40-foot screen, allowing attendees to cheer on the Wildcats while exploring the new sports complex.
