Amy Morris has been hired as Henderson County Schools’ new director of finance.
Morris has two decades of accounting and public finance experience, and most recently worked as the director of finance for Union County Schools, according to a release from HCS.
During her tenure in Union County, Morris has provided district-wide leadership in budgeting, financial reporting and grant compliance.
She has overseen the planning, organization, and control of all financial operations, including general and federal fund budgeting, procurement, payroll, internal controls, fixed asset management and audit coordination.
Morris is a certified public accountant and certified school financial manager. Before her work in school finance, she served in roles including hospital budget management, corporate accounting supervision and senior accounting and auditing positions in public accounting firms, according to an HCS release.
She holds a Master of Science in Public Service Administration from the University of Evansville and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Murray State University.

Morris will transition into this role with Henderson County Schools this summer.
