Recent local achievements
- Cory Bridges, at Independence Bank, was recently appointed by Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell to the Kentucky Agriculture Finance Corporation. KAFC administers several state loan programs. The programs are funded with Tobacco Settlement Funds. Bridges represents the ag lenders of Kentucky on this board.
- Cameron Brown has been named the new board chair of Henderson KY Pride. Brown takes over for Angie Gatten, who has been board chair since July 2025. Gatten will move to the treasurer’s role. Brown has served on the board since April 2025.
- Curt Hamilton was recently selected to 2027 Kentucky Super Lawyers.
- An image by Debbie Scott, who often shoots photographs for the Hendersonian, is going to be displayed in the Indiana State Museum Historic Site at Angel Mounds. The floor-to-ceiling image is of the Winter Solstice taken at Angel Mounds.
- Three Henderson businesses were recognized in Kentucky Living’s statewide Best Of 2026: Henderson Brewing Co., Third Place Best Craft Beer; L&N Bed & Breakfast, Third Place Best Specialty Lodging or Bed & Breakfast; and Audubon State Park, Second Place Best Camping or RV Spot.
- Tacoholics was named a regional winner for Best Mexican Restaurant in The Guide to Kentucky’s Best of Kentucky 2026 guide.
- Kelsey Hargis, community enrichment officer at Independence Bank, is a finalist for the Kentucky Chamber’s Young Professional of the Year Award
