Hendersonian contributing photographer Debbie Scott tagged along on a Saturday morning wildlife viewing guided tour with Audubon State Park naturalists and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife agents. It was a part of the park’s first ever “Audubon Wild” event. The event, which occurred last weekend, included the guided tours to Sloughs Wildlife Management Area in northwestern Henderson County and educational presentations at the state park. The tour’s first sighting of a mother Eagle on the nest.

Testing human grip versus eagle grip. 400 psi for an eagle in comparison to an average human grip of 75 pounds per square inch.
The duck trap where ducks are tagged. They fly in and cannot get out until they are released. They are not harmed during this process.

On our trip back through the same area the group was lucky enough to see both mom and dad on the nest.
