It’s the second recent release from HPD about the technology’s effectiveness and comes ahead of Oct. 13 community Flock meeting
The Henderson Police Department made a release early this week that Flock cameras were crucial in finding a man who was stalking his girlfriend.
It’s the second release from HPD in the last couple weeks about the effectiveness of Flock technology and comes ahead of a community meeting that the city is hosting, when residents will get to share their feelings about Flock.
According to police, officers responded to a call on Lakeview Drive regarding a domestic disturbance, with a victim reporting that an ex-boyfriend, who had an active Kentucky Interpersonal Protective Order against him and had previously broken into her apartment that day, was currently stalking her and headed toward her home.
While officers searched the surrounding area, dispatch confirmed the suspect had an active arrest warrant for second-degree burglary and IPO violations, said police.
Officers immediately turned to our Flock Safety camera system. Within minutes, a license plate match alerted officers to the suspect’s vehicle near the Ellis Park main entrance. Responding quickly to the location, officers found the suspect still inside his vehicle and took him into custody without further incident before he could reach the victim, said police. He was transported to Henderson County Detention Center.
